The Hospice Foundation of Jefferson County, Inc., a nonprofit corporation seeks to provide support for the Hospice movement through Hospice of Jefferson County, Inc., throughout its service area. In the belief that compassionate care for the terminally ill is essential to the quality of life of the community, the Hospice Foundation will:

Develop educational materials describing the Foundation programs and services.

Seek to promote gift opportunities and obtain charitable gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Productively manage all forms of charitable gifts, assets and investments on behalf of Hospice of Jefferson County.

Hospice relies on annual fundraising efforts to make up the shortfall (presently between $35 and $40 per patient per day) in Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance reimbursements versus actual cost of care.

The Foundation will strive to build upon these fundraisers through memorial funds, major gifts, endowments and other planned giving programs.
